Tag Team Top 5 for the week of February 13th, 2017



1. TWINS (Sami Callihan & Brian Cage)- This duo from the Lucha UnderGround teamed up this week at FEST Wrestling’s Love Cup and won the whole tournament!!! “Mr GMSI” and “The Death Machine” defeated Shane Strickland & Angel Rose in the 1st round; then defeated Aaron Epic & Martin Stone in the semifinals; the defeated TWO teams in the final getting the tournament win over Pop Culture (Jason Cade & Veda Scott) & Team Lucha (Jay Rios & Jon Cruz) THREE BIG WINS over TOP NOTCH talent get these Twins the #1 ranking this week.

2. Chip Day & Priscilla Kelly- Our number 2 team also won a tournament to claim their spot in this week’s Indy Power Rankings Tag Team Top 5. The Hiearchy was representing as Chip Day & Priscilla Kelly went to Georgia Premier Wrestling defeating Johnny Rokk & Tiffany Roxx in the opening round; Joseph A’gau & Kayla Lynn in the semifinals; and finally besting Jessica Lee & Torque to win the ‘Together we Fight’ Tournament with a 3-0 weekend.

3. Scarlet & Graves (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz)- These two are no strangers to the Indy Power Rankings and this week they got a big title defense of those Combat Zone Wrestling tag team championships defeating EYFBO (Angel Ortiz & Mike Draztik) on 2/11. Again the prestige of Wentz & Xavier as a team as well as the prestige of those CZW tag team titles gets Scarlet & Graves back in the top 5 this week and looking for an even higher spot in the 2017 Year End Rankings.

4. The Swords of Essex (Scott Wainwright & Will Ospreay)-We go back to the UK for our #4 team this week.  Wainwright & Ospreay were already 2/3rds of British Triangle Champions and added to that this week becoming the NEW What Culture Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions; The duo defeated El Ligero & Gabriel Kidd, Johnny Moss & Liam Slater and Prospect (Alex Gracie & Lucas Archer) in a four-way ladder match at WCPW on 2/12 to add more championship gold (and an IPR ranking) to their impressive bodies of work.

5. N Words (Acid Jazz & Bryce Benjamin)- 2-0 for the Freelance Wrestling Tag Team Champions this week but ONE HUGE victory came on 2/11 when they defeated #1 in the 2017 Year End Rankings The Carnies (Kerry Awful & Nick Iggy) to retain the titles; The duo then went on to team with Shiloh Greaves at Galli Lucha on 2/12 to defeat Joey Ryan, Matt Knicks & Stevie Fierce ending a very successful, undefeated week.

4/17 PWX ‘What Lies Beneath’ Results Charlotte, NC

The Ugly Ducklings (Colby Corino & Rob Killjoy) w/ Lance Lude defeated Tracer X & Jett Black

Ian Payne defeated Manscout Jake Manning by DQ

Manning immediately kicked Payne in the groin & pile drove him causing the DQ. He then addressed the crowd saying “The Joke is over” and called out PWX management for forcing him out of PWX once before. Manning said the PWX champion John Skyler had no honor and he would restore honor to PWX and the championship

PWX Innovative Television Champion Gunner defeated Brian Cage to retain

The Revolt (Caleb Konley & Zane Riley) defeated An Officer and a Gentleman (Chuck Taylor & Dan Barry)

“The Southern Savior” John Skyler defeated Mason Maddox w/ The Tommy Thomas to retain the PWX World Championship

Following the match, Skyler extended his hand and respect to the challenger but quickly attacked Maddox. George South ran in for the save and Skyler attacked him until Jake Manning hit the ring with a kendo stick & chased off the champion. PWX Owner Brian Kanabroski & Executive Producer Patrick Price came out asking Manning to leave the ring and saying they would “talk about a possible match with Skyler” before threatening suspension. Manning struck Price and delivered a piledriver to the owner of PWX!!!!

Trevor Lee defeated “Bad Boy” Joey Janela

*Lee was a last minute substitution for Lance Lude who was injured last night. Best wishes to 1/3 of The Ugly Ducklings Lance Lude on a speedy recovery!

Anthony Henry w/ Amber Young defeated “The Product” David Starr

Cedric Alexander defeated Ethan Case

The Bravado Brothers (Harlem & Lancelot) defeated Country Jacked (Adam Page & Corey Hollis) to win the PWX Tag Team Championships ***TITLE CHANGE***

This was to be The Bravados last shot at the titles and Page & Hollis were DQ’d early on. Harlem & Lancelot then revealed after winning War Games they secured a contract to amend the stipulations of the match if this were to happen and the match was restarted with no DQ and The Xperience banned from ringside.
