Indy Power Rankings for the Week of June 12th, 2017

#1 Adam Cole (@AdamColePro)-The NEW IWC Super Indy Champion gets his first #1 ranking in quite some time after winning the Super Indy 16 Tournament. As the Super Indy Tournament often falls on Tournament of Death Weekend, it often has been overlooked, but this is the first time it has produced a #1 ranking. It was all about strength of competition and prestige of the talent involved as Adam Cole beat Zema Ion in the First Round on 6/10, then beat Joey Janela in the Second Round the same day, and then beat Jonathan Gresham in the Final to win the tournament and the vacant title with a 3-0 record for the week. Adam Cole BAY-BAY is at the top of the Indy Power Rankings once again!

#2 Jimmy Havoc (@JimmyHavoc)-The IPW: UK World and Championship of Wrestling Interstate Champion gets a #2 ranking after beating some strong opponents, but the official voters felt that Adam Cole’s strength of competition was enough to edge him out for the top spot this week. Don’t overlook who Havoc beat though as he beat John Wayne Murdoch and Rickey Shane Page in the First Round of CZW’s Tournament of Death on 6/10, then beat MASADA in Round 2, and then beat Conor Claxton in a No Ropes, No Ring Mat, Barbed Wire, and Light Tubes Death Match to win CZW TOD 16 with a 3-0 record for the week. That about wraps it up for death match season with multiple #2 rankings and even a #1!

#3 Mark Haskins (@FightHaskins)-This English talent had a very good week as he won the Smash Gold 2017 Tournament in Canada over the weekend with a 2-0 record for the week. In Round on 6/11 he defeated Dalton Castle and then followed that up by defeating Evil Uno, Kevin Bennett, TARIK, and Sebastian Suave in a Five-Way Elimination Final the same day to win the tournament. While his official record was only 2-0 for the week, he technically outlasted 6 other competitors to win the tournament, thus he gets the nod for the #3 ranking this week just behind Adam Cole and Jimmy Havoc. It was all about tournaments this week from #1-#3.

#4 T-Hawk-Spot #4 in the Indy Power Rankings goes to another tournament winner as T-Hawk teamed with El Lindaman and Shingo Takagi at Dragon Gate on 6/8 to defeat Tribe Vanguard (BxB Hulk, YAMATO & Yosuke Santa Maria) then defeated Eita on 6/10 in the semifinals, and then defeated Naruki Doi in the final on 6/11 to win the King of Gate 2017 tournament to go 3-0 for the week. The only thing that likely kept T-Hawk from being even higher was the fact that one of his victories was a tag match, but you can’t really argue with his 2 singles wins to win the King of Gate tournament. So that being said, 1-4 goes to tournament winners.

#5 Dre Jacobs-AND the #5 spot goes to a tournament winner as well. Dre Jacobs defeated Marcus Everett at XICW on 6/11 in a Qualifying Match, then outlasted Travis Titan, El Diablo, Chris Moore, Jaimy Coxxx, DBA, Jake Something, and Hakim Zane in the second round, and then defeated Malcolm Monroe III to win the Malcolm Monroe Memorial Cup to go 3-0 for the week. 5 rankings. 5 tournaments. 5 winners. It was VERY difficult to determine who went where this week, but this ultimately how it all shook out at the end of the day.
#6 Jimmy Kanda
#7 Chase Owens
#8 Cody Burns
#9 Juan Francisco de Coronado
#10 People’s Champ. Ragnar-It’s the first win in the online voting competition for Ragnar as he fought Asylum to a Double Countout at Maximum Pro Wrestling on 6/10 and then won a Rumble later the same day to go 1-0-1 for the week. It took 70 votes as he edged out Stitches for #1 in the fan vote to win his first People’s Champ award. You can like his home promotion’s Facebook page here:
