Indy Power Rankings for the Week of April 10th, 2017

#1 Michael Elgin (@MichaelElgin25)-The 2013 IPR 100 #1 is BACK at the top of the Indy Power Rankings Top 10 as he mowed through the competition this past week. He started off the week when he defeated Jake Crist at IWA Mid-South on 4/6, then defeated Matt Riddle at AAW on 4/8, and then defeated Jeff Cobb, Tarik and Brent Banks in a four-way at Smash in Canada on 4/9 to go 3-0 for the week. He was a unanimous #1 among the official voters as he knocked off some of the top names on the indies in North America in just one week. 5 solid names, all defeated by Elgin. Welcome back to the #1 spot to “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin.

#2 Kip Sabian (@TheKipSabian)-The NEW HOPE Wrestling King of Flight Champion gets his first ranking as he defeated Matt Cross in the first round on 4/8, then defeated Cara Noir in the semifinals the same day, and then defeated Jigsaw, Ashley Dunn & Jake McCluskey in a four-way final to win the HOPE Kings Of Flight Championship Tournament to go 3-0 for the week. Sabian gets a VERY high ranking this week after defeating some top names in the UK (and from around the world) on the way to another championship. If he can keep up this momentum, you’ll surely be seeing his name in the Top 10 again this year.

#3 Toby Farley (@RealTobyFarley)-The NWA Smoky Mountain Cup once again plays a big part in deciding a top ranking in the Top 10 this week as in previous years of the tournament. He defeated Chip Day in the first round on 4/8 and then beat Menace, Axton Ray, Jordan Kage, Tracer X & Timmy Lou Retton in a six-way elimination match in the final to win the Smoky Mountain Cup and go 2-0 for the week. This is Farley’s first ranking as he picks up a career win in the tournament in Tennessee. Like Sabian, he’s likely going to have multiple chances to improve on his ranking as the year rolls on.

#4 Masaya Takahashi-When someone goes 6-1 in a week like Takahashi did, it’s almost impossible to deny them a spot in the Top 10. Takahashi as 1/3 of the BJW Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Champions teamed with Abdullah Kobayashi & Takayuki Ueki at BJW on 4/3 to defeat Ryuji Ito, Isami Kodaka and Toshiyuki Sakuda, then teamed with Kobayashi & Ueki again on 4/5 to defeat Ryuji Ito, Masashi Takeda and Kankuro Hoshino, then teamed with Takayuki Ueki & Kankuro Hoshino on 4/6 to lose to Ryuji Ito, Masashi Takeda & Yuko Miyamoto, then teamed with Kobayashi & Ueki on 4/7 to defeat Ryuji Ito, “Kokutenshi” Jaki Numazawa & Toshiyuki Sakuda, then defeated Kenji Fukimoto on 4/8 in the semifinals, and then defeated Isami Kodaka in the final to win the Ikkitousen Death Match Survivor tournament; then teamed with Kobayashi & Ueki on 4/9 to defeat B Faultless Junky’s (“Kokutenshi” Jaki Numazawa, Masashi Takeda & Takumi Tsukamoto) to retain the titles. Insane week for this Death Match talent.

#5 Arik Royal (BigArikRoyal)-Another former mainstay of the Indy Power Rankings returns this week after a huge week at CWF Mid-Atlantic. He defeated Dirty Daddy there on 4/8 and then won a Battle Royal the same day to go 2-0 for the week. We’ve seen in the past that Arik Royal can be very dominant when given the opportunity as he is a former #1 in the Indy Power Rankings. Though most of his bookings tend to stay around North Carolina, he continues to make a lot of progress as one of the top talents in that area.

#6 Dru Skillz

#7 Dave Crist

#8 Corey Storm

#9 Amazing Maria-#3 in the online voting competition with 54 votes

#10 Todd Letterman aka Kevin Lee Davidson

People’s Champ. Devin Driscoll (@Devin_Driscoll)-This is the second-ever People’s Champ award for Driscoll as he basically dominated the online voting competition from start to finish. With 156 votes, he crushed all other challengers to win the award this week. In the ring he had an amazing week as well as he beat JT Dunn at H3Wrestling and then Ethan Page by DQ the same day to go 2-0 for the week. On any other week he likely would have cracked the official Top 10. You can follow him on Instagram @DevinDriscoll
