Indy Power Rankings for the Week of March 6th, 2017

#1 Archadia (@ArchadiaNJ)-This week was a prime example of just how important the online voting competition can be. While Archadia didn’t win the competition, he collected 62 votes to come in FIFTH in the online voting competition. This along with high marks among the official voters’ ballots pushed him into the top spot this week. The lesson here is if you’re a fan and you see someone you want to vote for, but it’s unlikely they’ll win the online voting competition, cast a vote anyway, it might just help them in the official rankings. That said, Archadia EARNED his #1 ranking after the new ACE Diamond Division Champion defeated Anthony Gangone at ACE on 3/3 to win the title, then defeated Gran Akuma at On Point Wrestling on ¾, then defeated Jordan Oliver the same day at SWF, and then defeated Evander James, Jimmy Lloyd and Matt Travis in an elimination match at VXS on 3/5 to go 4-0 for the week. Congratulations to Archadia on his first #1 ranking!

#2 Tyson Dux (@TysonDux)-Tyson Dux came oh SO CLOSE to getting his second #1 ranking this week. The Smash Champion and ½ of the new Alpha-1 Tag Team Champions had the edge among the official voters this week as he defeated Vaughn Vertigo at Barrie Wrestling on ¾, then defeated Scotty O’Shea & John Greed at Smash the same day to retain the title, then teamed with Josh Alexander at Alpha-1 on 3/5 to defeat Ethan Page and Shane Sabre, and then teamed with Josh Alexander the same day to defeat Rickey Shane Page & Gregory Iron and Brent Banks & Young Myles to win the tag titles and go 4-0 for the week. It was a fantastic week for one of the truly underrated talents on the indies right now. Keep an eye out for him as 2017 rolls on.

#3 Thunderkitty (@kittythunders)-It’s the highest ranking yet for Thunderkitty as the WAR Women’s and new Zero1 USA Women’s Champion defeated Bree Alison (Serenity) in the first round at Zero1 USA on 3/2, then defeated Stacy Shadows and Randi West in a three-way final the same day to become inaugural women’s champion, then defeated Leah Vaughn at Pro Wrestling Allstars of Detroit on 3/3, and then defeated Heather Owens at Wrestling and Respect on 3/4 to retain their title to go 4-0 for the week. You could honestly stack her week up against Dux and Archadia and give great arguments as to why she should be #1 as well. Thunderkitty, like Dux, is one of the truly unsung talents on the indies and it looks like she’s really starting to get her due.

#4 Alessandro Corleone-We get Italian representation in the Indy Power Rankings this week and it’s really not hard to see why. Corleone gets his first official ranking as the Italian Championship Wrestling Italian Champion defeated Gravity on 3/3 to retain the title, then defeated David Silas the same day to retain again, then defeated Ghostbuster on 3/4 to retain again, then defeated Nemesi the same day to retain again, and then defeated Red Devil on 3/5 to retain again to go 5-0 for the week. It was an absolute marathon of a week for Corleone who does what very few have been able to do and that’s shedding light on wrestling in Italy.

#5 Jeremiah-The NEW Rockstar Pro Champion showed that hard work pays off this past week after he defeated Colin Delaney at Rockstar Pro on 3/1 and then beat Sami Callihan, Shigehiro Irie, and Zachary Wentz in a Four-Way on 3/3 to win the title. While his 2-0 week didn’t have the sheer number of victories that some others above him in this week’s Top 10 had, it did have a lot of quality as he beat four of the best wrestlers on the indies on 2 separate days. Jeremiah is a bit of a surprise as Rockstar Pro Champion, but as we’ve seen before with Rockstar Pro running weekly, someone like him can definitely make a run at multiple rankings as the months march on.
#6 Matt Riddle
#7 Zodiak
#8 Nicole Matthews
#9 Shank Barzini-#2 in the online voting competition with 100 votes
#10 Kris Wolf-#4 in the online voting competition with 68 votes
People’s Champ. AC Riley (@WrongAlexRiley)-It was another good week for Riley as he adds to his total wins in the online voting competition after the RWA Heavyweight Champion beat Colin Brooks at RWA on 3/4 to retain the title. His fans then came together and collected a MASSIVE amount of votes at 227 to easily win him this week’s People’s Champ award. Like his Facebook page here:
