Indy Power Rankings for the Week of December 12th, 2016

#1 Joe Gacy (@JoeGacy)-How important is the CZW World Title to the Indy Power Rankings’ official voters? Obviously, very important as it was Joe Gacy’s title victory alone that thrust him into his first #1 ranking this week. Gacy’s victory over Jonathan Gresham in what many would call an upset on 12/10 was the thing that finally gave Gacy his first World title, which of course led to this ranking. With just next week to go before the IPR 100 Reveal, will Gacy make this year’s IPR 100? You’ll have to tune in here starting on 12/27 to find out: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/elitepodcastnetwork/2016/12/28/indy-power-rankings-2016-ipr-100-reveal-night-one

#2 Ashton Smith (@Trent99)-The NEW Preston City Cruiserweight Champion gets his first ranking after beating Bubblegum on 12/9 to win the title. He then beat Cyanide by DQ at FutureShock Wrestling on 12/10 in the first round of the Trophy Tournament and then beat James Drake in the finals to win the tournament with a 3-0 record for the week. Smith had a legitimate argument for #1 this week, but of course got edged out by the slightly more well-known, Joe Gacy. You can’t deny the quality of the opposition put in front of Ashton Smith as he beat a former multi-time #1 in Bubblegum to win the PCW Cruiserweight Title. Look out for him in 2017.

#3 David Starr (@TheProductDS)-“The Product” just continues to show that his star is rising (no pun intended) as he regained the wXw Shotgun Title over the weekend when he beat Chris Brookes, Da Mack, and Pete Dunne in Germany on 12/10 to win the title. He followed that up with a HUGE victory over former #1 AR Fox on 12/11 at Beyond to go 2-0 for the week. David Starr has been nothing short of amazing in 2016 and it will be interesting to see how much more he can accomplish in 2017. Will this ranking be enough to push him into a top spot in this year’s IPR 100? Stay tuned to find out…

#4 Chasyn Rance (@ChasynRance)-What a phenomenal week for Rance as he was VERY busy with FIVE big matches. The SCW Florida Cruiserweight, USCW Cruiserweight, Orlando Pro Wrestling and RIOT Cruiserweight Champion defeated Robert Von Achen at Orlando Pro Wrestling on 12/7 in the first round of the Toys for Tots Cup, then defeated Amber Nova in the semifinals, then lost to CT Brown in the final, but then bounced back as he defeated The Haitian Sensation at Conquer Pro Wrestling on 12/9, and then defeated Dinamita Solar at USCW to retain the title on 12/10 to go 4-1 for the week. It’s been another solid year for Rance as he just continues his success in the State of Florida.

#5 CT Brown-It’s a first-ever ranking for CT Brown as he defeated Faris Hakeem at Orlando Pro Wrestling on 12/7 in the first round, then defeated Axx Clover in the semifinals, and then defeated Aaron Epic, Chasyn Rance and Chico Adams in a four-way final the same day to win the Toys For Tots Cup to go 3-0 for the week. Despite beating Chasyn Rance in the Finals, he comes one spot BEHIND him in the Top 10 because of Chasyn’s busy week, but Brown got a great ranking for his first time in the Top 10 and with this type of momentum, it may not be his last. He’s another talent to look out for as 2017 is just around the corner.

#6 Santana Garrett

#7 Tracy Williams

#8 Jeff Cobb

#9 Mike Shreddz

#10 Chuck Cyrus

People’s Champ. DJ Havok-The CCW Champion gets his first People’s Champ award after collecting 78 votes to win a narrow victory and this week’s online voting competition. His victory over Damian Slater in Australia on 12/10 gave him a big title defense, which of course got him on the poll, and then his fans took care of the rest as he BARELY beat out Shane Mercer for the People’s Champ award this week. You can give him a like on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/DylanJamesHavok/
