Indy Power Rankings for the Week of November 28th, 2016

#1 AR Fox-“The Whole Foxin Show” has returned to the #1 spot in the Indy Power Rankings this week! The AAW Heritage Champion resumed his winning ways over the weekend as he beat Dezmond Xavier in the first round of the joint PCW/wXw/CZW/Beyond event on 11/25, then beat Da Mack in Round 2, and then defeated Bubblegum in the Finals to win the Wrestling World Championships Cruiserweight Tournament. This was surprisingly his first #1 ranking since 2013 when he racked up three #1 rankings in one year. He was also #4 in the online voting competition with 25 votes from his fans. Fox has had one hell of a good year, and if this continues, you can expect to see him very highly ranked in this year’s IPR 100. Tune in here on 12/27:

#2 Pete Dunne (@petedunneyxb)-What a phenomenal year it’s been for Pete Dunne (and the UK wrestling scene as a whole) as he picks up yet another ranking this year. The Over the Top No Limits, Pro Wrestling Kingdom, FCP, VII Pro, Progress Tag Team and NEW Progress World Champion defeated Fabian Aichner and Marty Scurll at Over the Top Wrestling in Ireland on 11/26 to retain the title, then teamed with Trent Seven at Progress on 11/27 to defeat The London Riots (James Davis & Rob Lynch) and then defeated Jimmy Havoc, Trent Seven, Travis Banks, Matt Riddle, Sebastian and TK Cooper in a seven-way elimination match the same night to win the vacant title to go 3-0 for the week. Simply amazing week for Dunne as he has now done everything in the Indy Power Rankings EXCEPT get that elusive #1 ranking this year.

#3 Jurn Simmons-This is the highest ranking ever for Jurn Simmons as the wXw Unified World Wrestling Champion, Southside Wrestling Entertainment Speed King, Preston City Wrestling Cruiserweight, Just Do Wrestling and Absolute Wrestling Champion defeated Dave Crist in the first round at the joint PCW/wXw/CZW/Beyond event on 11/25, then defeated T-Bone on 11/26 in the semifinals, and then defeated Dave Mastiff in the final to win the Wrestling World Championships Openweight Tournament to go 3-0 for the week. His weekend stacks up with Fox and Dunne as he had support at the #1 position by a couple of the official voters this week. It was a tremendous weekend for Simmons as he continues to build his stock.

#4 Bull Bronson-This underrated “Vader-like” talent gets his first official ranking this year after winning the 1-ton tournament at SWF on 11/25. He beat Danny Compass in the First Round, then beat Ray Waddell in the semifinals, and then beat Buzz Dupp in the finals to win the tournament to go 3-0 for the week. Bronson is one of those guys who works primarily in the Southern states who really hasn’t gotten the attention he deserves. If he can continue to build momentum, you’ll likely be hearing his name more frequently in the upcoming months.

#5 Nixon Newell (@NixonNewell)-The British Wrestling Entertainment Women’s and What Culture Pro Women’s Champion teamed with Kay Lee Ray at Fight Club Pro on 11/25 to defeat Drew Parker & Lee Hunter, then with Kay Lee Ray at Pro Wrestling EVE jointly defeat Alex Windsor (double pin) then defeated Kay Lee Ray at Southside Wrestling Entertainment on 11/27, and then defeated Katey Harvey at Progress the same day to go 4-0 for the week. Her week was VERY good and on many other weeks she would have been slotted even higher, but with four solid talents with 3-0 weeks (all in singles) ahead of her, it was very hard for her to overcome those kinds of weeks to get a higher spot. That being said, #5 isn’t bad for one of the top talents in the UK.
#6 Danny Psycho-#5 in the online voting competition with 22 votes
#7 Cody Rhodes
#8 Chuey Martinez
#9 Tracy Smothers
#10 Matt Cross
People’s Champ. Sami Callihan (@TheSamiCallihan)-What more can you say about Sami Callihan? “The Callihan Death Machine” is a former #1 and NOW he’s done what very few big names have done as he won the online voting competition this week. Most times, the voting competition goes to lesser-known talent who are trying to get noticed, but Callihan’s fans came together this week and crowned him People’s Champ after he got on the poll by retaining his AAW Title vs. Chris Hero over the weekend. 107 votes is what it took for him to get his first type of recognition of this particular kind.
