Indy Power Rankings for the Week of November 21st, 2016

#1 Anthony Henry (@AntnyHenry)-For the second straight year, PWX’s X-16 Tournament produces the #1 ranking in the Indy Power Rankings. This time around…it’s Anthony Henry as he proved most predictions right and won the tournament for his first-ever #1 ranking. On 11/19 he defeated former IPR #1 Martin Stone in the first round, then beat Trevor Lee the next day in the Quarterfinals, then perennial #1 Zack Sabre Jr. in the Semi-Finals the same day, and then last year’s winner and former #1 Ethan Case in the Finals to go 4-0 for the week with the tournament victory. There was a lot of great talent all over the world who had a fantastic week, but none surpassed the week that Anthony Henry had. Congrats to Henry for his first #1 ranking and to PWX for another #1 ranking from the X-16!

#2 Joe Coffey (@Joe_Coffey)-Hell of a week for Joe Coffey in the UK as he defeated Havok at Target Wrestling on 11/18, then beat Johnny Moss on 11/19, and then scored perhaps the biggest single victory of the weekend (and his career) when he defeated Kurt Angle at ICW on 11/20 to go 3-0 for the week. The only thing his weekend really lacked was some gold or a tournament victory. That being said, his wins stack up against anyone’s as it’s not every day that someone can say they defeated Kurt Angle…especially on the indies. This is Coffey’s 5th official ranking this year and his first time at #2. Impressive week as he looks to try to build on his ranking before the IPR 100 Reveal on 12/27 & 12/28! Tune in here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/elitepodcastnetwork/2016/12/28/indy-power-rankings-2016-ipr-100-reveal-night-one

#3 Su Yung (@realsuyung)-Despite being an amazing talent and one of the best female talents on the indies, Su Yung had never been ranked in the Indy Power Rankings prior to this week. Had it not been for Anthony Henry’s breakthrough week, Su Yung’s first ranking likely could have been a #1 ranking. That being said, she still gets a GREAT ranking as she ends up at #3 this week after an absolutely incredible week all over the U.S. The PW2.0 Women’s Champion added the Girl Fight Title and the WSU Uncensored Title to her collection as she defeated Lady Wilson at Terry Harper Presents on 11/15, then lost to Samantha Heights at Rockstar Pro on 11/16, then defeated Chloe Belle Smothers in the quarterfinals, Hayley Shadows in the semifinals and Maria James in the final at Girl Fight on 11/18 to win the tournament and the title, then defeated Leva Bates at Women Superstars Uncensored on 11/19 to win their title to go 5-1 for the week. Her lone loss may have been the one thing that cost her the #1 ranking, but the #3 on a week like this is nothing to be ashamed of whatsoever.

#4 Rampage Brown (@RampageBrown)-The former #1 is back in the Top 10 again as he mowed through the competition in the UK over the weekend. The Tidal Wrestling and PROGRESS Atlas Champion beat Chris Dickinson at PCW on 11/18, then beat Dave Rayne on 11/19, and then polished off the week with a win vs. AR Fox on 11/20 at Tidal Wrestling to retain the title with a 3-0 record for the week. Rampage Brown is one of those talents that may go quiet for a time but he always seems to find his way back into a high ranking in the Top 10 as he is truly one of the UK’s finest talents. Where will he be in the IPR 100 this year? Stay tuned…

#5 Ethan Case (@EthanCaseClosed)-Last year around this time, Ethan Case celebrated a victory in the PWX X-16 Tournament which led to his first #1 ranking. This year…the X-16 leads to another solid ranking for Case as he is now 7-1 over the last two years in this tournament. He beat Fred Yehi on 11/19 in the First Round, then beat Tracer X in the Second Round, then Sami Callihan in the Semi-Finals, before falling to Anthony Henry in the Finals. An impressive 3-1 week gets him back into the Top 10 despite just falling short of winning the X-16 for a second year straight. Keep an eye on Case as his star continues to rise.

#6 Louis Lyndon

#7 Grimm

#8 Matt Riddle

#9 Dagon Briggs-#2 in the online voting competition with 164 votes

#10 Bubblegum

People’s Champ. Jon Davis (@JonDavis817)-This week’s online voting competition was headlined by an all-out WAR between Jon Davis, Dagon Briggs, and Johnny Romano. In the end, Jon Davis was able to edge the other two competitors out, but before we get into that, let’s just say that Jon Davis had a disastrous start to his week before rebounding in a big way. The Federated Wrestling Champion lost the USWA Elite Championship to Dagon Briggs on 11/18, then lost the United Pro Entertainment title to Lance Alonte the same night, then defeated Blake Wilder in the quarterfinals at Pro Wrestling Ego on 11/19, then defeated Jake Parnell in the semifinals, then defeated Davey Vega in the final to retain the Federated title and win the 2016 Great Southern 8 Tournament to go 3-2 for the week. It was a week of ups and downs for Davis that culminated in yet another People’s Champ award for the powerhouse.
