Indy Power Rankings for the Week of October 31st, 2016

#1 Eddie Edwards (@TheEddieEdwards)-Before confusion sets in, let’s reiterate that TNA is NOT included in our rankings. That being said, when a talent like Eddie Edwards ventures outside of TNA and picks up wins, he becomes eligible for the Indy Power Rankings. It was difficult to deny Edwards a spot in the Top 10 this week as he defeated Ashton Smith at Preston City Wrestling on 10/28 to retain the TNA Title and then beat Bubblegum at SWE on 10/29 to retain the title again. A 2-0 record and his considerable name value helped him to get to his very first #1 ranking this week. One other thing, strength of competition helped as Bubblegum is a former #1 and a win vs. Bubblegum was key. If Edwards continues to compete on the indies away from TNA, there’s no doubt you’ll see his name more frequently in the upcoming months.
#2 Mark Haskins (@FightHaskins)-It’s the second #2 ranking of 2016 for Mark Haskins and his 4th overall as he enters the Top 10 yet again this week. The Progress, Smash, 4FW Junior Heavyweight and FNW British Champion got a lot of support for his first #1 this week, but got edged out by Eddie Edwards in the end. He defeated Robbie X at Southside Wrestling Entertainment on 10/29 and then defeated Jimmy Havoc and Marty Scurll in a triple threat at Progress on 10/30 to retain the title to go 2-0 for the week. If his reported injury is significant, we’d like to wish him well in the hopes that he can get back to where he was with the quest of his first #1 ranking being much more than wishful thinking. Best of luck to Haskins in his road to recovery.
#3 Cody Rhodes (@CodyRhodes)-The former #1 finds himself in the Top 10 for the third time this year after another successful ranking. Rhodes is all about the high ranking as he’s had a #1, a #2, and now a #3 ranking to complete the trifecta. This past week he defeated Joe Coffey at SWE on 10/28 and then Pete Dunne at SWE on 10/29 to go 2-0 for the week. Rhodes beat two top-notch competitors for his ranking this week and though he didn’t get any support at #1, he definitely had an argument. The thing lacking for Cody Rhodes right now? A title. If he can claim a title or a big tournament win, you’ll probably see him back in the #1 spot again.

#4 People’s Champ. AC Riley (@WrongAlexRiley)-It’s ANOTHER People’s Champ award for AC Riley and it’s that People’s Champ award that helped him get all the way up to the #4 ranking this week. If you’ve ever wondered how important the online voting competition is, if you remove all votes from the fans for Riley, he would have been sitting at #9 this week in the Top 10. Because of the win, he shot all the way up to #4. He had a phenomenal week as the RCCW City of LaCrosse Champion beat Jay Leo and Coach Burns in a Triple Threat on 10/28 to retain the title and then retained again vs. Derek Cobain on 10/29. A 2-0 week and 2 title defenses gets him on the poll. The fans did the rest. Like his Facebook page here:

#5 Rampage Brown (@rampagebrown)-The #5 spot this week goes to former #1 Rampage Brown after a solid week in the UK. The Progress Atlas and TCW Champion teamed with T-Bone at Preston City Wrestling on 10/28 to defeat Blue Zone (Craig Sanders, James Finn & Mark Eastup) in a Handicap Match and then defeated Bad Bones John Klinger at Progress on 10/30 to retain the title to go 2-0 for the week. Surprisingly, this was only the second ranking of the year for Rampage after getting his #1 ranking early in the year. Time will tell what the rest of 2016 holds for Rampage Brown going forward.
#6 Cody Deaner
#7 Maruko Nagasaki
#8 Trent Seven
#9 Dragneel
#10 Mohamad Ali Vaez
