Indy Power Rankings for the Week of June 13th, 2016

#1 Rickey Shane Page (@RickeyShanePage)-RSP battled through disgusting wounds, cuts, and everything else to become #1 this week for the very first time! For the third straight year, the CZW Tournament of Death Winner becomes #1 in the Indy Power Rankings after he defeated Tim Donst, then Conor Claxton, and finally Matt Tremont to win the tournament. In 2014 it was Jun Kasai, in 2015 it was Matt Tremont, and now in 2016 it’s Rickey Shane Page. Despite some injuries along the way, Rickey Shane Page has really improved over the last several years and it has now culminated with a victory at CZW’s Tournament of Death 15. He’ll get another shot at a #1 ranking on August 6, 2016 as he’ll be competing at IWA Mid-South’s King of the Deathmatches 2016. If he can pull a Tremont and win both, we may be looking at a 2-time #1. RSP even picked up 28 fan votes this week to come in 4th in the online voting competition.
#2 Josh Alexander (@Walking_Weapon)-For the second year straight, the IWC Super Indy Tournament winner comes in just behind the CZW Tournament of Death winner. Alexander had all the momentum after a #1 ranking two weeks ago and continued to cruise as he outlasted Dezmond Xavier, Darin Dinero, and Jonathan Gresham to win the tournament on 6/11 with a 3-0 record. The Walking Weapon has been exactly that as we head to the mid-point of 2016 and of course, our 2016 IPR 100 Mid-Year Update. Look out for Alexander to continue to make some noise in the second half of the year as he shows no signs of slowing down.
#3 Pete Dunne (@PeteDunneYxB)-Pete Dunne continues his magical year as he picks up yet another ranking in the Indy Power Rankings Top 10 this week. The RPW Cruiserweight Champion defeated Tyler Bate & Chris Brookes at RHP on 6/10 in a triple threat, then defeated Chris Tyler & Ashley Dunn at HOPE on 6/11, and then defeated Martin Stone at RPW on 6/12 to retain the title to go 3-0 for the week. This is his THIRD #3 ranking of 2016 and at this point the only thing he really hasn’t accomplished is a #1 ranking, but he is still making a STRONG push for the top spot in the 2016 IPR 100. Keep an eye on him as 2016 rolls on.
#4 YAMATO-What an insane week for YAMATO as he absolutely dominated Dragon Gate in Japan last week. He teamed with BxB Hulk at Dragon Gate on 6/6 to defeat Cyber Kong and Mondai Ryu, then defeated Jimmy Kanda on 6/8, then teamed with BxB Hulk and Yosuke (loves) Santa Maria on 6/10 to defeat Monster Express ( Masato Yoshino, Akira Tozawa and T-Hawk) then defeated Akira Tozawa in the semifinals on 6/11, and then defeated Big R Shimizu in the final on 6/12 to win the King of Gate 2016 tournament to go 5-0 for the week. In all honesty, he had a FANTASTIC argument for #1 this week, but for one reason or another, he sits at #4 due to the insane competition on this week’s ballot.
#5 Santana Garrett (@SantanaGarrett_)-Last year’s IPR 100 #1 continues to churn out the wins as she picks up three over the weekend. The Battling Bombshells, BPW Heavyweight, OPW Women’s, NPW Women’s, CWE Vixen’s, RIOT Women’s, Wrestling Superstar Women’s, USWA Women’s and 1/2 of WOW Tag Team Champions defeated Kennadi Brink at PW2.0 on 6/7, then teamed with Aria Blake at OPW on 6/10 to defeat Dominique Fabiano & Queen Raquel, and then defeated Chelsea Durden at CCW on 6/11 to sweep the week. Santana could be a force to be reckoned with once again as we enter the second half of the year.
#6 Drew Galloway (@GallowaySpeaks)-It’s two straight #6 rankings for Galloway! It was a 2-0 week at EVOLVE as he teamed with Ethan Carter III at EVOLVE on 6/10 to beat Johnny Gargano and TJP and then beat Ethan Page on 6/11. Please note that his loss in TNA has no bearing on our rankings. On the INDIES, Galloway has been nothing less than impressive lately as he’s been scoring big wins left and right. As we said last week, if he can pick up some gold in an independent promotion again, he might just get the momentum he needs to propel himself to yet another Top 10 finish in the IPR 100 this year.
#7 Timothy Thatcher-It’s been a little while since we’ve seen the EVOLVE Champion in the Top 10. This past week he kind of got lost in the shuffle of a lot of great wrestling going on. On 6/10 he defeated fellow Indy Power Rankings former #1 Chris Hero to retain the title and then beat Tracy Williams on 6/11 to retain. His wins alone were impressive, but what also helped his ranking this week was the prestige of the EVOLVE title and the fact that he defended the title both nights against top competition. If Thatcher can continue to win and defend that title, he’ll once again be very highly ranked in the IPR 100 this year.
#8 AR Fox-“The Whole Foxin’ Show” only needed one big win to get into the Top 10 this week. The AAW Heritage and DREAMWAVE Alternative Champion defeated Connor Braxton, Dave Crist, Dezmond Xavier, Kevin Lee Davidson, Stephen King, and Zachary Wentz in a Six-Way Scramble at Wrestling Revolver on 6/10. While it was just one win, the voters took extra notice of the fact that he defeated 5 other very good opponents. AR Fox just continues to impress in 2016 as he’s picking up big wins no matter which promotion he’s competing in week after week.
#9 Joseph Black (@blackcloudjb)-What a year it’s been so far for Joseph Black as he continues that trend with another ranking this week. The NWA Mid-Atlantic Junior Heavyweight, PWF Shinjiro Otani Open Weight, 1/2 of NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions and NEW WVCW Junior Heavyweight Champion gets into the Top 10 this week after he defeated Jason Kincaid, Anthony Henry and Chase Owens in a 30 minute scramble at WVCW on 6/11 to win the title, which was yet another in a long list of titles he’s won or defended this year. The sky continues to be the limit for a guy who can put over an angle AND a promotion better than damn near anyone on the indies.
#10 JJ Garrett (@JJGARRETT94)-“The King of Swag” gets his first ranking this week as the Matt Cage trainee had one hell of a night at IWA Mid-South on 6/9. Despite having his brains beaten in by Kevin Lee Davidson, he SURVIVED 15 minutes of an “I Quit” only stipulation to enter the Opportunity in a Box Ladder Match the same night where he defeated Curt Stallion, Matt Cage, and Randi West. His only blemish was his loss to Sally Stiches at Freelance Wrestling on 6/10 in a Triple Threat Match. With a title match in his pocket at IWA Mid-South in the near future, this may not be the last time you see him in the Top 10.
People’s Champ. 2Buff (@OneAndOnly2Buff)-The House of Bricks Southern New England Champion gets his first mention in the Indy Power Rankings this week after winning the online voting competition with 86 votes (53 more than the second leader on the board). He defeated JB Tickle on 6/10 to retain the HoB Title which earned him his spot on the poll and his fans/supporters took care of the rest. He is your People’s Champ this week, so give him a like on Facebook at or give him a follow on Instagram at @OneAndOnly2Buff
